What you do

Each player has a portal gun. You place portals on walls, floors and ceilings to move yourselves, boxes and lasers through test chambers. The co-op campaign is separate from the solo story and is built entirely for two.

Who it suits

Two friends who enjoy thinking out loud together. No fast reactions required, just patience and good pointing.

Point, do not explain

The ping tool lets you mark where a portal should go and even show a countdown. It is the quickest way to share an idea without a long explanation.

A separate co-op story

The co-op campaign has its own robots and its own story told through the same sharp humour. You do not need to have played the solo game first.

Cheap and runs anywhere

It runs on almost any PC and is often on sale for a few pounds. There is no easier recommendation for two friends with laptops.

On deck

  • Brilliant puzzle design
  • Very cheap
  • Runs on almost any computer

Below deck

  • Only two players
  • Ends once the puzzles are solved
