What you do

You arrive in a huge generated world with nothing. Gather wood and stone, build a shelter, cook, craft better tools, then set out to defeat one of the bosses. Each boss unlocks the next region and the next tier of building.

Who it suits

Groups who like a long project. It shines when one person enjoys building, another loves exploring and someone else is happy to cook.

Set up a dedicated world

Valheim saves the world separately from your characters. Ask one person to host a world, or rent a small server, so nobody has to be online for the others to play.

Splitting the jobs

Give people roles. One builds, one hunts, one handles the farm. The game is generous about sharing materials, and a well-organised base makes every trip out easier.

The sea and the storms

Sailing is one of the best things in the game. Building your first longship as a group and crossing open water in a storm is a moment your crew will remember.

On deck

  • Up to ten players in one world
