Crossplay explained: who can play with whom
Your friend is on PlayStation, you are on PC. Here is how to check whether you can play together.
01What crossplay means
Crossplay lets players on different platforms join the same game. It is decided by each game, not by your console, so always check the specific game.
02Accounts you may need
Many crossplay games ask you to link a publisher account. Read what each account collects before you sign up, and use a strong, unique password.
03Our quick table
On every review we list crossplay in the "manifest". At the time of writing, Helldivers 2, Grounded, Phasmophobia and Remnant II offer crossplay between their platforms; Lethal Company, Raft and Sons of the Forest are PC only.
04Cross-progression
Cross-progression (keeping your save on another platform) is a different feature and is rarer. Do not assume your progress follows you.
05When it is not supported
If the game you want has no crossplay, pick one that does from our finder rather than asking a friend to buy a new console.
