How to plan a co-op night that actually happens
Most co-op evenings fail before anyone loads a game. Here is the checklist our crews use.

01Pick a fixed slot
A regular night beats a group chat full of "maybe". Choose one evening a week, the same time, and protect it. If someone cannot make it, play something that works with fewer people rather than cancelling.
02Check everyone owns the game
Before the evening, confirm platform, edition and updates. Big patches can take an hour to download, so ask everyone to start the game once the day before.
Games like Split Fiction offer a free pass for a second player, which helps when only one of you owns it.
03Start short
The first session with a new game should end on a high. Choose short missions (Deep Rock Galactic, Helldivers 2 or Left 4 Dead 2) and stop after an hour or two, while people still want more.
04Agree the voice setup
Some games have built-in voice; many do not. Pick one place for voice (a party chat or a Discord server) and stick to it so nobody has two conversations at once.
05Look after each other
Take a short break every hour, drink water and stretch. If somebody wants to stop, stop. A good co-op night leaves everyone keen for the next one.
